Day 5-14

Long Night...

So last night I was on the phone with one of my besties Darnelle and he came up with the grand idea for me to take a nap and then wake up and do my Philosophy and African American Literature homework...I took the advice...I woke up at 230am! wth So I stayed up till 430 this morning reading my assignments for class!

Philosophy

Now its 9am and I am sitting in philosophy class with Leila taking notes while tweeting while on facebook, and clearly while blogging! (talk about multitasking! lol) As far as Philosophy Bentham is just an idiot if he thinks people can really live by the principle of utility...clearly utilitarianism does not exist. get over it. I enjoy this class but I cant wait until it is over because I am super hungry...and me and Leila can't remember the dude sitting next to Skyler name lol....its 3 hours til 12 and I get to see if I made the list for Introduction to Acting....(nervous and leaning on a prayer)


I'm out of philosophy now...but I have African American Lit homework to do...damn I don't wanna take this class this man already got us reading 30 pages. . . that leaves little time for me to chat...class in 2 hours and I've only read 2 pages...ttyl

Day 4

FIRST THINGS FIRST...

So, I definitely thought my class started at 10am. So I got up washed my hair blow dryed it took my precious time so I could look fly for Black Wednesday...only to my surprise I get to class and he is dismissing class...IT STARTED AT 9AM...yikes! lol...Ill get the notes from my neighbor though. Until then, I'm about to hang out in front of the Golden Bear Cafe with Sam and everyone else for Black Wednesday. This should be fun!!

The Audition...

However, between you and me, I've always wanted to be a movie star. However since I've come to reality, I know that will never be, not because it can't but because I really would like to be a doctor. But I figured why not audition for the acting class while Im here. I mean I'll never know until I try...right? maybe or maybe not...I signed up to audition at 3:20...Its 3:36 now and Im sitting here giving myself all kinds of reasons not to go....ok forget it what do I have to lose? Ill do a script from one of my favorite movies (not Forest Gump thought thats my ultimate favorite movie, I gotta stick with something I really know I can pull off0 So ill recite a scene from "The War"...

Later that day...

My audition went amazing. They laughed and loved my piece. However Berkeley students have first choice. There are 3 sections and 40 people in each sections. I'm only available for one of the sections and thats on Wednesday...Crap...65 people auditioned for that section..Oh well..If I don't get it I know I did my best and I was good so that's all that matters. They post the list tomorrow at Noon...Ill be the first in line to see if I made it. I have to go now though...I have Afro American Lit Homework as well as Philosophy which reminds me....The link to my Philosophy class isnt working! WTF! Sending an email to the professor right now! This needs to be fixed asap BEFORE 8am!  Night Night ttyl

Day 3

First Day of Classes 

"Second to life the greatest thing I'm most grateful for of what God has blessed me with is speech and my social skills. "

Today, I went to Philosophy and African American Literature. They seem to be relatively easy classes. I also decided to go visit the coordinator of my department. To my surprise It was at least 15 black students in there and I felt at home. This just made my experience all the more greater. Samantha is really cool. She is a senior here at Berkeley. Me and her are going to the NBA All Stars Weekend together in LA, and then the Bahamas for Spring Break! Im super excited but I have a visitor coming the same weekend as NBA All Star Weekend to visit me! I gotta figure out what to do! Hopefully I can persuade him to come with me to LA for the weekend. But I stayed in there with all the students for like 5 hours then my coordinator treated me to ice cream! YUMMY! Later that day Me and Sam and like 10 other people went out for happy hour and tacos at this mexican restaurant then we went back to Sams apartment to watch The Game....its midnight now so I think I'm going to go to sleep. TTYL.

Days 1-2

Day 1

I arrived at Berkeley today Sunday January 16th. After getting off the plane in Oakland airport I got the chance to be on the set of Qualo (a new rapper) video shoot. 


I just got to my dormitory and I'm greeted by my two new roommies Teresa and Flora :-) however, I immediately feel out of place. This was going to be a lot to get used to. I see no one of my skin complexion. My entire floor is Korean, and though I am not racist and I tend to get along with anyone I know this is going to be an adjustment and I need adjust quickly. 

Day2:

I can already feel homesickness coming over me. I need to get out of the room and make new friends quick...or I'm not going to survive these 6 months.
